Just thought I would share some of the creations I have been working on. With Grace sleeping better during the day, I am making the most of some creative time. It seems since Grace was born my mojo is slowly coming back and I am getting back into some layouts. The first one is a layout I scrap lifted and wanted to add to Graces 12×12 album about the things that I went through in pregnancy. Simple but tells the story.
Then I had these photos from my birthday this year that needed to be scrapped. I wasn’t sure about this layout to start with but really like how it’s turned out. It inspired me to submit 3 layouts to the BasicGrey gallery. I shall see how I get on. I’ve been thinking when I get a little more in the swing of layouts I may submit some to mags and see what happens. You just never know.

Lastly just a very quick card I whipped up with the cuttlebug for Craig’s brothers birthday.
Well better get back to some more creating whilst Grace snores logs! hehe

Grace has been suffering terribly with colic at night, no one can prepare you for it! I have been trying all sorts of things , some work for a bit and then stop. Anyhow we are edging closer to 12 weeks when she is hopefully going to start to beat it, we shall see.
I’m lucky she is pretty good during the day, so I have just got her to sleep so can have some time to myself.
So today I thought I would just bum about home, I’m lucky the cleaning and washing is up to date so I can just vege out. In fact I am watching a fave feel good movie of mine” You’ve got Mail”. It made me wonder what other people’s fave movies are? What’s yours? I’m a big romantic comedy fan, so love “Notting Hill” and all those nice feel good movies.
I was also thinking if anyone has MSN I have just signed up so add me if you want to chat sometime. I’m new to it but I think all you need is my nick…. solar_gal and that I’m with Hotmail ??
Anyhow I hope everyone has a good weekend planned!

Here are some photos of the baby album I am making for Grace to capture her first 12 months. I really am happy with how it has come together and because I am following a simple formula it is easy to get it completed each month. I shall keep posting the updates as the months go by so look out for them.

All this WOO HOOTING about my week is good fun, if you haven’t tried it give it a go!
Makes you realise just how lucky you are…
1. Visiting the Dunkleys Craft show with my sister and friend. It was worth a looksie but there wasn’t anything new so will wait a few more years to go again.
2. The STUNNING weather!! It has been so warm and nice, but I believe we are in for rain. I think for us scrappers it’s a win/win situation because we can enjoy the sun then create when it rains! :p
3. Creating a layout, it’s be awhile. It’s simple but was in the to-do pile of photos.

4. Completing Grace’s 12 months album up to date. (see other post for photos)
5. Sharing the first BBQ of the season with friends on a glorious sunny Sunday. What a yum spread we were indulged with!
6. Getting out walking on the beach. Note to self - DON’T try to push the stroller over huge sand dunes! It’s jolly hard work hehe

Here we go again, where do the weeks disappear too!
WOO HOOT WEDNESDAY!
1. Milo with marshmallows - My all time favourite treat at the moment!
2. Watching Outrageous Fortune, brilliant NZ tv!
3. The bright Summery colours in the clothes stores, yay Summer must be coming.
4. Seeing how happy Craig was when we celebrated the first Father’s Day as him as a Dad.
5. Spending time with my Mum.
6. Our little Grace is growing everyday and smiling and gurgling more, it’s so much fun to watch!

I’ve decided that I might try and do Whoo Hoot Wednesday. Focusing on the positive sounds like a brilliant idea! I believe it was a Janine creation. I do so enjoy catching up on other peoples Whoo Hoots! hehe
I’m not sure if there are any rules to it but here goes.
* I bought these beautiful flowers on Monday and as they have opened they have become more beautiful, they really brighten my day every time I look at them.
* I planted these baskets up during the dept’s of Winter and they are coming into flower now. I love the double primulas I planted in them, will pot up some more this weekend.
* I love these pictures I took of Grace smiling. She isn’t doing it all the time yet but when she does smile it makes my heart melt! It’s worth all of the lack of sleep!

* We have been getting out for walks in the FANTASTIC weather over the past few days. We have made it into the 20’s on more than one day. YAY!
* Old fashioned Golden books, I bought some on Trademe for Grace. It takes me back to my childhood
* This recipe for Amish Chocolate chip cookies from Melissa Goodsell’s blog, it’s the best! Craig thinks they taste just like cookie time cookies.

Well Grace turned 6 weeks on Tuesday and she has had a few milestones in the past week. She has started smiling at us, proper smiles not just wind hehe
I haven’t managed to capture it on film yet but I will
She has also dropped one of her night feeds so now she only wakes once between 10.30pm and 7am. I can’t wait till she is sleeping right through but this is good at this point for us.
We have had a few nice outings to the beach for walks and coffees, we headed to Akaroa a few weekends ago on a stunning sunny day but I still can’t wait for spring and summer to really get here. I want to get into a habit of walking everyday and would like to move a few of the kg’s I gained during pregnancy. It would be great to find some friends to walk with in the area, all of my friends work full time. Hopefully when we start Plunket in a few weeks we can start up something.
Will try to keep up with my blogging as I know there are some very keen blog readers out there. *wink*

Well another week almost over! I don’t where the time goes. Grace is a month old on Tuesday, gosh I can’t believe we have had this precious little bundle for almost a month! She is asleep in my arms so I thought it would be a good time to catch up on mine and other blogs. I love reading how everyone else is getting on with their creations, I sit in awe at the moment. I want to create and have no excuse for time as Grace sleeps ALOT but I seem to lose inspiration soon as I sit down. I think I just need to do it and don’t think. Maybe I will start with some easy cards to get me in the mood. I bought one of the new Cuttlebug embossing folders the other day. The one with the side borders for cards, can’t wait to use it!
Since starting to write this blog entry the weather has turned completely yuck outside! This morning at 4am when I was up feeding Grace it was snowing outside, when we awoke this morning it had settled. It’s been hailing, raining and sleeting all day long so it has been the perfect day to create, hang out at home and watch the Olympics. I have managed to put together 3 layouts so far so it looks like my mojo has come home to roost! YAY! I will update with some pictures tomorrow when I can get some good light to take the photos.
I couldn’t resist taking this picture this afternoon of Craig and Grace “hanging out”
hehe
Thanks to all the mothers who gave advice on the colic issue. We have been using the tips and although sometimes it gets a bit testing at night. Things are getting easier by using the ideas so thanks a bunch!! It’s fantastic to have such a wealth of knowledge to draw on.
Here are a few photos that we have taken over the past few days, must make a trip to Harvey Norman to get them printed and sort out a few more.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend and keeping warm! Take care :)

Well I’m gradually getting into the swing of motherhood. It was a bit daunting on Monday when Craig went back to work, but we had a good day and Grace and I even ventured out to the mall and spotlight. We have been out for a few walks in between the rain and crap weather. I shouldn’t complain but I am so totally over this weather!! We just have to remember each day is a day closer to spring. I was really happy to see on our walk earlier in the week that the daffodils and springs bulbs are coming up, YAY!
One thing Grace is struggling with is lower wind pain, I think it’s known as colic (not to sure). If anyone has some old fashioned cures or tips to ease it for her I would be very happy to hear them. Other than that she is an easy baby, great for a first time Mum.
hehe
Since I’ve been inside I’ve managed to get some wee canvas’s finished. I’ve used small 4×4 canvas’s with pretty pink shades of paint, ribbons and letters on each that spell GRACE. I also decorated a plain lamp for her bedroom with more pink. They really look cool in her room.
I also got some photos printed and papers chosen to finally do some layouts. I hope my scrapping mojo is coming back! hehe Some friends are getting together on Tuesday to create so hopefully Grace is happy enough so I can get some scrapping done.
I’m so happy it’s the weekend, it will be nice to spend some time with Grace and Craig. I know he has missed her this week while he’s been back at work. Grace’s Nana and Granddad arrive home from Singapore too so that will be good to catch up. I know they are hanging out to see how she has changed in the past weeks.
Not much else to add except I hope everyone has a brilliant weekend!

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments , we certainly are proud as punch of our new wee girl. We had a great day today, Grace slept so well last night and boy did we need some sleep. Today the sun came out and we ventured out and took Grace to meet her Great Nana. Love this picture I got of Grace, Craig and his Nana.
The rest are a few pictures of the past few days. Grace’s Nana and Granddad can’t be with us at present so hopefully these photos will keep them both up to date. Grace can’t wait till she can have cuddles with you both!
It sounds like tomorrow might be a nice sunny day so we hope to get out for a nice walk in the sun. We will no doubt be taking more pictures! Lucky I’m a scrapbooker! hehe

Grace really enjoyed her bath last night, then a massage. I’m sure that’s what made for such a good nights sleep. We will certainly be repeating it tonight.
All dressed up and ready to go out, thanks for all the lovely hand knits Nana Lyn. The bunny booties are the best!
