Is Rochelle Goodenough?

A little bit of creating…

August1

Well I’m gradually getting into the swing of motherhood. It was a bit daunting on Monday when Craig went back to work, but we had a good day and Grace and I even ventured out to the mall and spotlight. We have been out for a  few walks in between the rain and crap weather. I shouldn’t complain but I am so totally over this weather!! We just have to remember each day is a day closer to spring. I was really happy to see on our walk earlier in the week that the daffodils and springs bulbs are coming up, YAY!

One thing Grace is struggling with is lower wind pain, I think it’s known as colic (not to sure). If anyone has some old fashioned cures or tips to ease it for her I would be very happy to hear them. Other than that she is an easy baby, great for a first time Mum. :) hehe

Since I’ve been inside I’ve managed to get some wee canvas’s finished. I’ve used small 4×4 canvas’s with pretty pink shades of paint, ribbons and letters on each that spell GRACE. I also decorated a plain lamp for her bedroom with more pink. They really look cool in her room.

I also got some photos printed and papers chosen to finally do some layouts. I hope my scrapping mojo is coming back! hehe Some friends are getting together on Tuesday to create so hopefully Grace is happy enough so I can get some scrapping done.

I’m so happy it’s the weekend, it will be nice to spend some time with Grace and Craig. I know he has missed her this week while he’s been back at work. Grace’s Nana and Granddad arrive home from Singapore too so that will be good to catch up. I know they are hanging out to see how she has changed in the past weeks.

Not much else to add except I hope everyone has a brilliant weekend!

LOVE the canvases they look stunning and the lamp shade is very beautiful. Liam was a bit of an unsettled baby and im not sure if he was colicy or not but we use to put a pillow under his bassinet to raise it a bit and when winding him put him right up on our shoulder so his tummy was up on shoulder to help get the wind out…it made him a bit happier…good to hear you are enjoying motherhood

Great that you have found time to be creative! That’s gotta make you happy.
Sorry to hear about Grace’s colic. I had a refluxy baby so know a little bit about it. Like Alison, we used to raise the head of the bassinet/cot so that he wasn’t lying flat, as that caused him a lot of discomfort (and made him more likely to vomit). There is also a homeopathic powder you can buy, you just dip your finger in the powder and the baby sucks it off (before or after a feed). It’s called Wedela Colic Powder. Also, I found burping my boys while they were sitting upright on my knee, supporting their chest and gently rubbing (not patting) their backs really helped with the wind. Hopefully you’ll find what works for wee Grace.

Back in the “old” days I had 3 who were sick all the time right up until they walked and were more upright. Raising the head of the bassinet definitely makes sense to me. Being upright seemed to make a difference. Good luck but sounds like you are doing great.

Awesome home decor Rochelle - I haven’t luckly had a colicy baby but was going to suggest like Hannah the waleda colic powder and you can sometimes get homepathic stuff!

Ummm moo never had colic but wind sometimes he fed to fast hee hee and Woodwards gripe water from the supermarket was good and also Carl was much better at getting the wind out, it seems that his chest was firmer than mine (oops) although he did get a tad upset when moo spewed on him hee hee hee
